Terminology

VLT %:
VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission. This represents the amount of visible light that gets in through either the film or both the film and window combined. A lower VLT% (eg. 20%) means the darker the tint will be, and a higher % (eg. 50%) means the tint shade will be lighter.

The tint shade must not exceed (be darker than) the VLT % listed in the state tint law chart.

Windshield AS-1 Line:
The ‘AS-1 Line’ is 4 – 6 inches from the top of the windshield. This area is sometimes referred to as the “sun shade strip.”
